Will County Humane Society is Will County’s OLDEST no-kill shelter! We house up to 30 dogs and 60 cats at any given time- not including those in foster care. We are a 501(3)(c) not-for-profit organization that relies solely on the generous donations and support from our surrounding community. Our facility does not receive federal or state funding.

To view the adoptable animals in our care, please fill out an adoption application found under the Adopt tab.

The cat room is free roaming which means none of the cats are caged. Potential adopters are able to walk the room and mingle with the cats which allows for a more intimate interaction. All cats over the age of 1 year have received a wellness exam, are current on Rabies and Distemper vaccinations, have had FIV/Leukemia testing as well as fecal testing. Cats are also microchipped, dewormed and current on preventions. Cats over the age of 4 months will be spayed/neutered. Kittens adopted under the age of 4 months will go home with a Spay/Neuter Certificate covering the cost of the spay/neuter procedure once the pet is old enough to have the surgery performed. For those adopted prior to procedure completion, a $100 deposit is required upon adoption and reimbursed once the procedure is complete by one of our participating vets.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing requirements set in place, all dog introductions will be conducted outdoors on an appointment basis. Potential adopters are no longer able to freely roam the kennel or our main yard unattended. All dogs are up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and preventions. Dogs over the age of 6 months have received a wellness exam, are current on Rabies, Distemper, Bordatella and Influenza H3N2/H3N8 vaccinations. They will also be spayed/neutered, tested for Heartworm disease as well as have fecal testing performed. Dogs are microchipped, de-wormed and current on preventions.

Puppies under the age of 6 months have received a wellness exam, will be current on Distemper, Bordetalla and Influenza H3N2/H3N8 vaccinations. Rabies vaccinations can be administered no sooner than 16 weeks of age. Fecal testing will be performed and dewormers will be given accordingly. All puppies are microchipped and current on preventions. Puppies adopted under the age of 6 months of age will go home with a Spay/Neuter Certificate covering the cost of the spay/neuter procedure once the pet is old enough to have the surgery performed. For those adopted prior to procedure completion, a $200 deposit will be required upon adoption and reimbursed once the procedure is completed by one of our participating vets.
