Who Can Participate:

Individuals, Families, and Groups are welcome! Walkers are also welcome to bring their dogs on a leash, as long as the dog displays a current rabies tag. No Retractable leashes will be allowed at the event. Leashes must be 6ft long or less and leashes must be held by an adult at all times. We ask that you limit your pets to 1 per adult participant.

Individual Walkers:  

Walker collect pledges prior to the walk and all adult participants are asked to gather a minimum of $40 in pledges to participate. Children 12 and under can join the walk for only $10 and will receive a special kid’s “swag bag”.

Family of 4 Team!

2 adults and up to 2 children can now participate together for only $90. The kids will enjoy a special kid’s “swag bag” just for them! Additional kids (12 and under) can join for only $10 per additional child.

The Course

The 2 Mile walk is on an asphalt trail surrounded by the woods. For the more daring walker, we have our 5K walk that is done on a variety of surfaces including asphalt and natural dirt surfaces and is a walk with hilly, uneven terrain and natural obstacles such as tree roots throughout. Due to the natural environment, no skates and roller blades are allowed, however strollers are welcome! We recommend that walkers bring their own bug spray and that pets be pre-treated with Frontline, etc. A full site map will be available the day of the walk.

How to Register

Registration forms and pledges can be dropped off or mailed to the shelter prior to the event at 24109 W Seil Rd, Shorewood IL 60404. You may also register and pay online in advance at willcountyhumane.com. Last minute registrations can be completed in person at the event!

Register Early, Get a Free Event T-Shirt!

All Adult participants who register early by September 7^th, 2019 will receive a free event t-shirt at the walk! Mailed registration packets must be postmarked by 9/7/19 to receive the free t-shirt.  Walkers who collect $100 or more in pledges can receive an additional free Whisker Walk T-Shirt if their forms and pledge dollars are returned to the shelter by 9/7/19. A limited quantity of event shirts will also be available for sale at the event.

**Please note that registration is still open through September 27th online.  However, due to the time required for the ordering of the t-shirts, these will no longer be included in the registration after September 7th.  In person registration will be available the day of the event.**
